Welcome to my Smashing Glass website. I am back after an enforced, extended break, including a major house move to a new area, so I am now picking up the threads in a new venue.
Bermuda Villa Glass Studio, Torquay, is the new home of Smashing Glass.
I want to build on the successes I had before.
That’s the thing with having a passion for Art and fusing glass: it will not let you go.
I am still as captivated as ever by its mysterious beauty and what I can achieve by transforming light through its rich transparent qualities. I have been storing up ideas and now want to get down to business, my tools are calling to me. I will still be smashing glass by hand and using it creatively in uniquely beautiful and desirable objects.
My glass has been commissioned, collected and televised, and presented to celebrities.
Lifelong passions feed into my work. Music of all kinds, painting, poetry, drama – all the arts, play their part in my creative, imaginative re-interpretations of nature.
My designs are purely artistic, sculptural and made with feeling. Some pieces shimmer with perpetual sunshine, others ripple and have movement. I intend them to be touched, held to the light, explored as another world and wondered at.
Art is a necessity not a luxury. It is food for the soul, stimulates the mind and affords an escape into the world of the imagination.
